The Rail 9.5 is a carbon electric mountain bike with long-travel suspension. It features an upgraded frame with longer reach for serious stability on the trail, and a suspension set-up and parts worthy of the gnarliest enduro laps. The powerful Bosch smart system motor will get you back up the mountain faster than you ever thought possible, and the huge 750 Wh battery makes the laps feel endless.
You're looking for a long-travel e-MTB that gives you a serious power boost without holding you back from hitting the techy terrain and big drops you love. You want to spend your cash on a carbon frame and worry about upgrading components later.
An OCLV Mountain Carbon frame with a 750 Wh Removable Integrated Battery, a super-responsive 160 mm RockShox 35 Gold RL fork with DebonAir spring, Motion Control damper and lockouts, a 150 mm RockShox Deluxe+ Select shock, the latest from Bosch with smart system Performance Line CX capable of speeds up to 20 mph (25 km/h in Europe), including a Bluetooth? LED remote for easy connectivity and activity tracking through the eBike Flow app. A Shimano Deore 12-speed drivetrain with an extra-low 52-tooth climbing gear.
The Rail 9.5 is the go-to if you want a carbon ride, and are happy to upgrade the part as you go. It keeps the price down with a Shimano Deore drivetrain, but upgrades things that matter most, like a frame with longer reach and extra stability. If you're looking for an e-MTB built to rip and upgrade over time, look no further.
- The Carbon Rail Gen 4 has the same enduro-inspired geometry and huge battery as the previous generation, but now it has a pocket in the top tube that makes Gen 4 compatible with Bosch's integrated System Controller and Mini Remote
- Trek's Removable Integrated Battery (RIB) system looks great and is super user-friendly: it fully hides the battery in the frame for protection, makes it easy to remove the battery without tools and lets you mount a water bottle cage
- Bosch's smart system gives you all the same power and responsiveness with a Bluetooth-connected LED remote and eBike Flow app that puts even more control and customisation at your fingertips
- The controller has Walk Assist and an intelligent e-MTB mode that automatically delivers the right amount of power based on your terrain
- The frame is extra-stout with a 34.9 mm seat tube to accommodate more robust dropper posts, and an oversized head tube that works with burly e-MTB optimised forks for less flex and more precise steering
Bosch Performance Line CX motor
The Bosch Performance Line CX sets the standard for eMTB performance with up to 85 Nm of torque and an intelligent eMTB mode with Extended Boost that automatically adjusts the amount of assist based on the terrain.
Removable Integrated Battery
RIB is a one-piece battery and cover with a built-in handle that can easily be removed and re-installed in the frame with no tools and no hassle. It's the most convenient way to remove your battery for transport, security or just easier charging.

Bosch LED Remote
The Bosch smart system LED remote lets you easily change assist modes, activate walk mode or turn on optional lights. The bright LEDs are easy to see in any light, and show you your battery level and assist mode at a glance.
Bosch Smart System
The Bosch smart system gives you an eMTB that's more connected than ever. The LED remote connects with Bosch eBike Flow app so you can get ride stats, adjust settings and perform system updates. Plus, Bluetooth connectivity makes it easy to add a display if you want to make it easier to see your ride data.
Active Braking Pivot
Active Braking Pivot allows our engineers to tune how the suspension reacts to acceleration and braking forces independently. That means you get more confident control when you need it most.

The UK’s Cycle To Work Scheme has been in place for over 20 years now, offering fantastic discounts to tens of thousands of riders.
The Cycle To Work Scheme, is offered through many thousands of employers in the UK and applies to bikes of all types, whether it’s road, MTB or hybrid, and that includes e-bikes too.
Introduced in 1999, the scheme aims to encourage employees to commute on their bike for environmental, traffic congestion and health reasons. It also enables companies to demonstrate that they’re looking after the wellbeing of their people.
Obviously, you’re supposed to use the bike for commuting – and we are massive supporters of getting to work this way – but it’s fine to buy a bike that’s built for the trails. Your employer owns the bike until you pay the final ownership fee, which is based on the “fair market value” of it at the end of that period.
As well as your new bike, you can use the scheme to buy accessories, such as helmets and bags, though these have to be ostensibly for your commute. So, no full face masks, for example. If you don’t have a lock, we strongly advise that you get one along with your bike as you’re liable for the Cycle To Work payments, even if it gets stolen while you’re paying it off.
This is a salary sacrifice scheme for people aged 18 and over where the monthly payment for your bike is taken out before tax and National Insurance are deducted. Because your contribution is taken before tax, you pay off more per month for less. So, for a bike costing £1,200, £100 is taken from your salary every month but it only costs you £68 because the other £32 would have normally gone to the tax man, right? So, you pay 12 instalments of £68 and a final ownership fee of £300, totalling £1,116. If your salary puts you in the higher tax brackets, you actually save more but you get the gist.
Firstly, find out which scheme your employer is enrolled in and therefore where you can buy your bike from. We work with a number of Cycle To Work providers, including cyclescheme.co.uk, cycleplus and Bikes for the NHS.
Then you need to speak to your HR department and request a certificate, bring it to us and we’ll redeem it against the cost of your bike and accessories. The salary sacrifice commences from your next pay packet.
To get a bike on the scheme, your employer needs to sign up to a provider. If they’re unsure about how to do this, send them to us and we’ll help.
If you can find it cheaper - let us know!
As well as offering a fantastic range of cycling equipment, Big Bear Bikes is equally committed to offering great value.
We want you to shop with confidence, hence our simple price promise. If you are interested in any item from Big Bear Bikes, and it is in stock at a comparable UK cycle retailer at a lower price, we will match that competitor’s price.
